Casing Chemical Joints

Here's a wastewater treatment facility in the Baltimore suburbs. It relied on railcars of chlorine gas to clean water flushed its way. Chlorine, a chemical weapon in World War I, is so corrosive it will eat through human teeth. At very high temperatures, it's combustible and often reacts disastrously with other industrial gases, such as anhydrous ammonia.
