There was always a tale in our family of two brothers that were separated during slavery days. We are the Borders family of Jackson County, Georgia. I took it upon

myself to find the missing brother. I called the local genealogical society in Jackson County

and they sent me two Wills. One dated 1804, which gave me the first five slaves owned

by Micheal Borders (DINER,BOB,JOE, MOSES, and EPHRAIM). The second, was the Will of his grandson, in which, he willed his slaves to his sisters, who remarried and two of my great great great grandfather, William Borders', brothers became Levi Butler, slave of Malinda Borders-Butler, and one (mulatto) became Benjamin Bowden, slave of a sister of the owner, Stephen Borders, who married a man named Bowden.
