Daniel Barenboim

Paula Zahn interviews the renowned pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim, who will soon conduct the Ghustav Mahler cycle along with Pierre Boulez. He recently retired after 15 years as the conductor for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Currently he is the Berlin State Opera’s music director and principle guest conductor at Milan’s La Scala. The importance of music can have in our lives is the subject of his current book, Music Quickens Time.
