It’s hard to think of any movie that could match up to Sunset Boulevard, and not just for this question. Of course, there is also the Coen Brothers’ absurd, hilarious Barton Fink.
What does our host Richard Pena think? “Let’s restrict it to American production. I’ve always loved Vincente Minnelli’s ersatz portrait of producer Val Lewton in The Bad and the Beautiful, and for indie films fans there’s Tom DiCillo’s Living in Oblivion.”
