What is your favorite films about gangs?

This week’s question: gangs in cinema. It seems that the gang is a kind of narrative institution is a favorite of many filmmakers, as it allows them to have a microcosm of many different types of people often with conflicting motivations.   

Here is what Reel 13 host Richard Peña thinks, “Two of my favorite gang films would be Luis Buñuel’s 1950 masterpiece Los Olvidados, but if you haven’t seen Walter Hill’s The Warriors for a while, look at it again. It holds up remarkably well.”
