Hello Reel 13 fans! The PBS Online Film Festival has officially started. The 8th year of the festival, PBS Online Film Festival returned July 15-26 and will feature 25 short-form independent films from multiple public media partners and PBS member stations. The festival will be available via PBS and station digital platforms, including PBS.org. As in previous years, films will also be available to stream on YouTube and Facebook.
This year, the film submitted by WNET is Beacon, directed by Ben Wright Smith. In this dialogue-free short, the youngest member of a small, isolated congregation begins to question her faith when a pilgrim arrives, then mysteriously disappears.
Two awards will be given out as part of the PBS Online Film Festival. We will count your votes, Facebook and YouTube likes and views to name our “Most Popular” film. Also, a distinguished panel of eight jury members will select their favorite film of the festival for the “Juried Prize.”
Please vote for your favorite films and represent your local station!
