CUNY Film Festival

The 10th annual CUNY Film Festival returns this month! The CUNY Film Festival is the only CUNY wide, student-run film festival. This year, over 90 films written, directed, or produced by CUNY students, graduates, or alumni will be screened. The screenings will be held at Macaulay Honors College in the Upper West Side on April 20th and 21st, with an Awards Gala being held on the 22nd. All events are free and open to the public. For a list of times, please visit http://cunyff.org/screenings/.

At the gala, 15 CUNY Film Festival awards will be presented. A special jury of students will confer the new Students’ Choice Award, and the LGBTQ Image Award will, for the second year, honor the film that creates a strong positive image for the LGBTQ community. Immediately after the gala will be the Creating the Vision panel with cinematographers that have worked in movies, television, commercials, and VR. For more information about the festival, please visit http://cunyff.org/.

Reel 13 will proudly feature a “Staff Pick” CUNY Film Festival short in the coming weeks. Reel 13 has previously shown the CUNY Film Festival Shorts Tiger Hoods, AOO, A Chance to Go Pro: The NWHL, FLOW, and Si Se Ha Vivedo Bien.
