For the first time in New Jersey history, Gov. Phil Murphy on Monday appointed a transgender cabinet member. Allison Chris Myers is being tapped as the acting chair and CEO of New Jersey’s Civil Service Commission, the agency overseeing government workers.Myers is an attorney, Navy veteran and Rutgers graduate who has worked at the commission for more than two decades.
