From the city council to school boards, bodies of elected leaders are critical to setting local policy. During the pandemic, when school board meetings went remote, more parents got involved as issues such as masking and vaccines became flashpoints. School board elections are technically nonpartisan but it doesn’t mean political organizations aren’t getting involved.
