Residents in Mahwah have been informed by the Mahwah Water Department that the level of PFOS in Well #19 exceeded the state limit. PFOS is part of a family of substances commonly referred to as PFAS, or “forever chemicals.” They're becoming evident in water systems across New Jersey and are causing concern because of their potential link to serious health issues.
