Ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted on charges of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd. A year ago the killing ignited a wave of international protests. On Tuesday there were poignant and peaceful gatherings as demonstrators blocked traffic on Teaneck Road for 9-and-a-half minutes, the amount of time Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck while making an arrest.
