NJ Spotlight News | Clip | House votes to stop rail strike, compel labor agreement

Facing a national “economic catastrophe” from a looming freight railroad strike, the House voted Wednesday to compel rail unions to accept a compromise contract brokered earlier by the Biden administration. The bipartisan vote would keep some 115,000 railroad workers on the job although their new contract still lacks paid sick days that bitter union members were prepared to strike over.
