In September 2013, the Nassau County Legislature unanimously approved developer Bruce Ratner’s $229 million plan to revamp the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and transform the surrounding land into an entertainment complex. The proposed Coliseum is projected to bring in more than $11 billion in economic activity in the County and State over the next 30 years.
