Caucus: New Jersey | Episode | Nurse Practitioners in the New World of Health Care

A Nurse Practitioner is a nurse with a graduate degree in advanced practice nursing. Nurse Practitioners can take a patient’s history, perform medical exams, order lab tests, and, in states like NJ, they can even prescribe medication. Currently with 4,000 Nurse Practitioners in the state and the ACA approaching in 2014, they are expected to make a big impact on the new world of healthcare.
