On April 28, THIRTEEN partnered with Fork Films and Independent Lens to host a screening of Abigail Disney’s new documentary, Independent Lens: The Armor of Light at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York.
Following a screening of the film, the audience of over 300 listened to a panel discussion about the moral response to gun violence. The panel consisted of the film’s subjects Reverend Rob Schenck and activist Lucy McBath; filmmaker Abigail Disney; Rev. A.R. Bernard, Founder, Senior Pastor, and CEO of Christian Cultural Center, New York City’s largest mega-church; and Rudy Washington, New York City Civil Service Commissioner. The discussion was moderated by MetroFocus’ Jack Ford.
