The Man with the Sawed-Off Leg and Other Tales of a New York City Block

April 04, 2018

Daniel Wakin, New York Times editor and author of “The Man with the Sawed-Off Leg and Other Tales of a New York City Block,” joins host Jenna Flanagan to explore New York City history during the first 50 years of the 20th Century.

In his book, inspired by the re-discovery of his childhood neighborhood, Wakin offers an intimate look at the stories behind, and inside, seven buildings located on one Upper West Side block. Join Wakin and Jenna for a walk through the neighborhood, history and of course the incident that inspired the title of the book.
