GENERATION BUT HE'S BEEN
BLACKBALLED.
THE COMPANY MY WIFE GREW WITH
STOPPED PLACEMENTS OF BIRDS
THERE.
SHE COULD NOT TELL THEM WHAT I
WAS DOING WITH MORGAN SPULOCK.

HATCHERY THAT WE CAN RAISE IN A
FARM.
IF YOU WANT TO BUY THE HEALTHEST
CHICKEN YOU CAN, IT IS VERY
HARD.
IN NEW YORK CITY WE -- IN
ALABAMA, JONATHAN CAN DRIVE
RIGHT A FARM AND FIND A CHICKEN
GROWER.
FOR A LOT OF US IT IS NOT EASY.
FINDING THE PERFECTLY GROWN
VEGETABLE OR WHATEVER, IT IS
TAKEN AWAY FROM OUR FOOD SYSTEM.

THE NOTION OF ORGANIC AND YOU
KNOW LOCALLY SOURCED AND YOU
LIKE PULL THE RUG OUT FROM

AND YOU START INSIDE OHIO.

IT IS A MULTI CULTURAL CITY AND

POCKET.
IF IT WORKS THERE, IT WILL WORK
IN MOST PLACES IN AMERICA.
WE TEST THE RESTAURANT THERE AND
IT IS EXPLODED.
NOW, WE ARE OPENING THEM ONE ON
23rd STREET IN NEW YORK CITY.

SO MY CATTLE OPERATION TOOK A

EVERY SINGLE DAY.
IT IS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY LARGE
CORPORATIONS THAT DOES NOT CARE
ABOUT YOU OR YOUR HELP OR THE
ANIMALS.

I WANT SOMETHING DONE ABOUT

CONGRESS NEEDS TO GET UP AND GET
OFF THEIR REARS AND GET STARTED
OUT HERE AND SLAVE THE FAMILY'S
FARM.

THIS IS THE NEW COSTCO, COSTCO
IS GOING INTO BUSINESS, THEY'RE
40% THERE ROTISERRI CHICKEN.
AND SO I AM SURE THEY'RE GETTING
FDA MONEY TO COME IN.
THEY'RE TAKING FARMERS OUT OF
THE PICTURE.
LARGE CORPORATIONS ARE TAKEN
OVER THIS.
THE FOOD SITUATION WILL ONLY GET
WORSE.
AND ALL THAT GET WORSE WITH THE
LARGE CORPORATIONS AND FAMILY
FARMS OUT OF BUSINESS.
THEY'RE PREDICTING THREE OR FOUR
OR FIVE YEARS ONLY 100,000
FARMERS LEFT.
>> ONCE PEOPLE HAVE SEEN THIS
FILM AND HAD A GREAT CHICKEN.
IT IS SOME GREAT CHICKEN
SANDWICHES THAT YOU MAKE.
WHAT DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO TAKE
AWAY FROM THIS?

THE FILM AND THE EXPERIENCE OF
THE RESTAURANT GIVES YOU A GREAT
IDEA UNDERSTANDING THE POWER YOU

WHEN YOU LEAVE THE RESTAURANT,

SANDWICH IS SO FOOD THAT WE WANT

MAKE AN ECONOMIC IMPACT.
I THINK OUR GOAL AT WHOLLY
CHICKEN IS HOW MANY FARMERS CAN
WE DO WITH JONATHAN AND NOW WE
HAVE FARMERS THAT CAN GROW IT IN
ANOTHER TOWN.
YOU ARE CREATING A SYSTEM
OUTSIDE OF A SYSTEM WHERE
CHICKEN FARMERS CAN LIVE AND
WORK AND SUPPORT THEIR FAMILY
AND THE COMMUNITY.

FARMER TO EXIST IF THEY WANTED
TO PROCESS THEIR OWN CATTLE OR
CHICKENS AND SELL OUT.

ARE INSISTING TO PAY DRIVING
THIS PROBLEM THAT JONATHAN IS

OUR ECONOMIC SYSTEM WHERE WE ARE
ONLY BELOW THE DENOMINATOR FOOD
COST.
LOOKING TO TAKE AS MUCH MONEY
OUT OF THE SYSTEM BUT YOU HAVE
PEOPLE TO REINVEST THAT SO THE
PEOPLE AT THE BOTTOM HAVE ACCESS
TO BETTER FOOD.
THINGS ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE.
PART OF THAT COMES DOWN TO
PEOPLE LIKE US, WE CAN DO BETTER
TO MAKE THAT FOOD MORE AVAILABLE
WHICH MAKES THE PRICE GO LOWER.

IT BECAUSE YOU DID NOT GET A
CHANCE TO EAT IT.
