TONIGHT ON METROFOCUS

October 23, 2018 at 5:30 am

After weeks of negotiations, Gov. Cuomo agreed to a televised debate against his Republican opponent, Marc Molinaro. And, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand canceled her debate over a strike at Spectrum Cable as her presidential war chest grows. In other news, Dean Skelos was once one of the most powerful men in New York. Now prosecutors say the former leader of the State Senate, “lied repeatedly” on the stand, and deserves a tough sentence. That’s not all. As we go into the new week, we’ll take a look at the political winners and losers around the state. Historian Michael Beschloss takes us inside the Oval Offices of past U.S. presidents who have lead our country during wartime. He joins us with a preview of his new book “Presidents of War.” PBS’ Nature takes us inside the world of super cats with a mini-series introducing us to big cats from around the world. Series Executive Producer Fred Kaufman is here with your preview.

Aired on October 22, 2018.
