August 3, 2017: TONIGHT ON METROFOCUS

August 03, 2017 at 7:45 pm

President Trump throws his support behind a controversial immigration proposal while here at home, cracking down on gang violence and fixing our crumbling infrastructure are in focus.  Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin is here to tackle those issues and share his view from Capitol Hill. 40 years ago, our city was on edge as the “Son of Sam” serial killer taunted police while hunting his next victims.  One of the survivors of David Berkowitz’s deadly rampage takes us back to that terrible time.  His story will be featured on Investigation Discovery’s  “Son of Sam:  The Hunt for a Killer.” It’s the stuff that baseball dreams are made of:  the 1926 world series, Babe Ruth, a boy fighting for his life, and a home run promised by the Bambino that turned into three, assuring a Yankees victory over the St. Louis Cardinals and a place in history.  We’re taking you back to that fateful day still revered as epic in New York culture. A special tribute to actor and playwright, Sam Shepard.
