August 24, 2017: TONIGHT ON METROFOCUS

August 24, 2017 at 7:30 pm

Mayor de Blasio squares off against Sal Albanese in the first New York City Mayoral debate of the upcoming race for City Hall.  Missed it?  Fear not!  We have the recap that every New Yorker should see, and analysis we will all find helpful! After stating that he favors defunding the arts and humanities programs, the President and the First Lady announce they will not be attending this year’s Kennedy Center Honors after some recipients announce they will skip festivities to protest the President’s politics.  All this, and his entire Arts and Humanities Council quits, citing the same.  The Creative Coalition’s Robin Bronk is here with reaction. We’re going back 40 years to “disco” Manhattan:  where the place to be was Studio 54, when the dance floor became the social scene, and the pulse of Manhattan was set to a throbbing beat.  Who better than a cowboy to take us there!  The Village People’s Randy Jones will be here with memories of those halcyon nights in the Big City.
