Former NYC Commissioner Wants More Immigrants To Run For Political Office

Studies by the New American Leaders Project show only 14 percent of state legislators identify as African-American, Asian-American, Latino, or Native American, despite those groups making up nearly 40 percent of the U.S. population. Sayu Bhojwani, the group’s founder and president and former New York City Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs, joins us to discuss how her organization hopes change mindsets and train immigrants to be diverse leaders for tomorrow.
