Explaining The Marquis Inclusion Program In GIFs
Say hi to this eighth-grader participating in an active arts class.
He and his older classmates are hanging out with a first-grade class at a Lower Manhattan school.
You’ll notice he’s not wearing the school uniform.
That’s because he goes to a different school for students on the autism spectrum.
As part of the Marquis Inclusion Program, he and his special-needs peers attend classes alongside general education students.
Specifically, they attend this class focused on movement.
The instructor, Joan, leads classes through the Marquis Inclusion Program to help the students interact.
The goal of the program is to teach special-needs and general education kids how to connect with and learn from each other.
And also to have some fun.
