NY’s Film, TV Industry Rivals Hollywood

It’s often called “Hollywood on the Hudson,” and if you live in New York City, chances are you’ve seen the lights, cameras and action of local film productions right in your own backyard.

But it’s not just Manhattan’s iconic skyline and cityscapes that attract filmmakers to the Big Apple. It turns out filming in the city makes good economic sense.

In her last interview as commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment this month, Cynthia Lopez explains how the industry has grown and what they’re doing to attract more business.
