Author Brian Morton Discusses his Latest Novel, Florence Gordon
Brian Morton is the author of five novels including Starting Out in The Evening, a PEN/Faulkner Award finalist that was made into an acclaimed feature film starring Frank Langella. His latest novel is Florence Gordon, a moving, multi-layered story about a brilliant, independent and irascible self-described “old intellectual feminist” who, as one critic put it, is “unlikable as a point of pride.” Rafael Pi Roman speaks with Morton about character development, the ideas and themes underlying the book and his journey as a writer.
