Success Academy Founder Eva Moskowitz on Charter Schools in NYC
Started in 2006 with one small school in Harlem, Success Academy is now the largest charter school network in the city with 32 schools and 9,000 students.
Last October, the state approved 14 additional Success Academy schools and if plans go according to schedule, it will be serving 16,000 students over the next two years.
Former City Council member and chair of the council’s education committee, Eva Moskowitz is the founder and CEO of Success Academy. She talked to MetroFocus host Rafael Pi Roman about her network and about the future of charter schools in New York City.
