Encore: January 29, 2015

One of broadcast journalism’s highest honors is the Alfred I. duPont – Columbia University Award. This year 14 winners from local and national TV, radio and online news organizations took home silver baton awards.

As part of our Listening In series, we have an excerpt from one of the PBS series honored –  The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. – as well as an excerpt from Gates’ acceptance speech.

You can watch the full awards ceremony here.
