The photo on the cover of Greenwich Village Stories: A Collection of Memories, taken by Robert Otter in 1965 at the corner of Bleecker and MacDougal Streets, remains a bit of a mystery. “It perfectly captures the spirit of the time but we don’t know who this man is,” said Andrew Berman, executive director of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation.
