You might recognize my friend Kristen Schaal from her appearances on HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords.” Every Monday, she co-hosts a live show called “Hot Tub” at Littlefield NYC in Brooklyn with Kurt Braunohler. Kristen and Kurt have this quirky chemistry onstage – it’s hard to tell who’s the straight man and who’s the goofball.

Another zany live show worth seeing is “The Talent Show Brand Variety Show” in Brooklyn. You’ll see a lot of great comedians there like Todd Barry and John Hodgman (from Apple’s “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” commercials). Sometimes public radio personality Ira Glass makes an appearance. Each monthly show has a different theme like “Truth or Dare” or “Slumber Party.” The theme of next month’s show, part of the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, is “The Drunk Show.”

Eugene Mirman is a comedian who lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is a regular on “Flight of the Conchords,” Adult Swim’s “Delocated,” had his own special on Comedy Central and voices Gene in the new animated Fox series “Bob’s Burgers.” He created, curates and hosts the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, now in its fourth year.
