I relied on PBS’ Masterpiece for a worthy escape into literature and drama during a horrible illness. I found solace in adaptions of Dickens’ novels, Inspector Lewis, Doc Martin, The Bletchley Circle, Foyle’s War, Call the Midwife, The Crimson Field, Downton Abbey, Home Fires, Mr. Selfridge, and besides wishing to live during the Victorian, Edwardian, WWI, and 1920’s era, I was able to find comfort in the grand and noble stories. As a writer, I remain inspired by Masterpiece.
