I was born in Bronx, NY, and raised in the West Farms Housing Projects. I am a Puerto Rican and proud literary agent by day and playwright by night. I am the founding member of the Dramatic Question Theatre (DQT). The DQT presented my stand-alone monologue, “Mujeriego,” at the Theatre for the New City. Last year I won the 2012 National Latino Playwriting Award for my first full-length play – only 25 years in the making – “Ghetto Babylon.” This August “Ghetto Babylon” will premiere Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theater presented by The DQT and Andrew Frank. “Ghetto Babylon” takes place in 1982 – South Bronx, USA. Puerto Rican and proud Charlie Rosa embarks on a summer of baseball, bullies, boarding school and… gulp, gulp … girls. When Charlie receives a letter, his life becomes about big secrets, little lies, and humongous pressure. Suddenly, it’s hard just being fourteen. Charlie is like me in so many ways.
