Barbara Binder

Barbara Binder joined the Board of Directors of the Friends of Thirteen, Inc. in 2019. She is the Senior Director of the Montefiore-Einstein Center for Cancer Care. Barbara is a nationally recognized senior executive in cancer care; responsibilities include oversight of the Montefiore-Einstein for Cancer Care, and the Cancer Service Line of the Montefiore Health System, which diagnoses close to 10,000 new cancer patients per year. Programs under her leadership include 14 multidisciplinary disease-based centers of excellence, medical and radiation oncology departments spanning 11 hospitals, all oncology support services, clinical trials and shared resources. Essential tools under her supervision are the Hospital Cancer Committee, Cancer Service Line Dashboard, Oncology EMR, Clinical Pathways, Quality Control and Improvement Committee, and Provider Burnout Prevention Task Force. Under her leadership, Montefiore Health System has developed a unique vision for a cancer service line that blends state of the art academic care, patient centered empathic vision, restoration of each patient to their status as a productive member of society, and enabling new generations of academic oncologists.

Barbara served on the advisory board of the American Cancer Society for ten years and helped raised over $300,000 for the organization through benefit events. She is an active member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society helping to raise funding through benefit events. Barbara has volunteered with The Humane Society, Girl Scout, and the Princeton Interns Program.
