Friends of THIRTEEN Promote The Great American Read at Westport Library Summer Book Sale

July 17th, 2018

On Sunday, July 16 The Friends of THIRTEEN hosted a table at the Westport Library’s 26th Annual Summer Book Sale and the Library’s Outdoor Salon to promote The Great American Read. Mae Miller, Friends Board Chairman (top left); Arlene Gottlieb, Friends Board member (bottom left); and Kala DeStefano, Senior Coordinator, Friends of THIRTEEN (bottom right), were in attendance promoting the initiative and WNET. They were joined by their partners at the Westport Library: Cody Daigle-Orians (top middle), Programming and Events Specialist, and Alex Giannini (top right), Manager of Experimental Learning.

The Friends spoke to more than 100 guests, many of whom were eager to add a book from The Great American Read list to their summer reading! To aid in this endeavor, guests were encouraged to seek out books with a Great American Read bookmark at the book sale.
