On Tuesday, May 1, the historic St. George Theatre on Staten Island hosted a cocktail cabaret party to thank their members and benefactors. The evening featured a screening of Treasures of New York: St. George Theatre and a Q&A with the film’s production team –Diane Masciale, VP & General Manager, WLIW and Executive Producer, Local Production; Ally Gimbel, Sr. Producer, Treasures of New York, WLIW; Marisa Grattan, Producer, Treasures of New York: St. George Theatre; and Sasha Schechter, Associate Producer, Treasures of New York: St. George Theatre/Producer, WLIW.
The theatre’s co-founders Doreen Cugno, who is a Friends of THIRTEEN board member, and her sister Luanne Sorrentino brought the idea for this Treasures of New York to the station and were thrilled to share it on the big screen for St. George’s patrons. Treasures of New York: St. George Theatre is the first Treasure to feature an institution on Staten Island.
