Women in Math

Students explore the lives and careers of women who have made historic and contemporary contributions to the fields of mathematics and computer science. College-bound students also investigate university programs in mathematics and computer science, and find out the high-school preparation needed to succeed in these fields.

Learning Objectives
Students will be able to:
- Identify several women who have made historic contributions to the fields of mathematics and computer science.
- Identify several contemporary women who are engaged in careers in mathematics and computer science.
- Visit Web sites for professional mathematicians and computer scientists.
- Visit college and university Web sites in order to gain information about majoring in mathematics or computer science.
Use of Internet: The Internet is used as a tool for Web research.
