How do I introduce WebQuests to parents and the community?
Many teachers find that having kids show parents what they have learned and created in a WebQuest at an open house or other school event is a good introduction to these projects.
Parents and teachers are often amazed when they see what their children can do when technology is involved. WebQuests can help parents by raising their expectations about what kids can accomplish. The hope is that this might help teachers allow their students to be more independent and self-sufficient in the classroom. Those who are dubious about the use of technology in the classroom often come around when they see what WebQuests can teach and produce.
