THIRTEEN is celebrating National Volunteer Week (April 18 – 24) in recognition of our volunteers and all who lend their time, talent, and voice to make a difference in their community. National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to highlight the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers.

We want to especially thank volunteers Jerome LePow and Yvonne Sokolow for over 20 years of service to THIRTEEN. Yvonne came to THIRTEEN in 1995 and has been providing invaluable support to our Marketing & Engagement, Kids Media & Education, and production teams ever since. In 2000, Jerry joined THIRTEEN’s volunteer program, lending skills from his career in banking to our Finance and Membership teams. Together, Yvonne and Jerry have provided over 10,000 hours of service to THIRTEEN.

THIRTEEN volunteers support departments across the station, providing vital service throughout the year. Additionally, volunteer committee members on the THIRTEEN/WLIW Community Advisory Board, Friends of THIRTEEN Advocacy Group, THIRTEEN Educational Services Advisory Committee, and WLIW Educational Telecommunications Service Committee are important links to our community and provide valuable feedback to the stations.
