A new THIRTEEN Explore Roku channel is the latest platform to join a collection of THIRTEEN Anywhere products, making the New York public media station’s content available across most mobile and entertainment devices.
Like THIRTEEN Explore on Apple TV, the THIRTEEN Explore Roku channel provides access to THIRTEEN’s critically acclaimed local programs (Playing By the Rules: Ethics at Work; MetroFocus, NYC-ARTS, Treasures of New York, Theater Talk and more) and full episodes of favorite PBS primetime shows like Masterpiece, PBS NewsHour, Nature, American Masters and Great Performances. You can add THIRTEEN Explore to Roku while in the app or add THIRTEEN Explore via the Roku site.
Also new are updates to the THIRTEEN Explore Android app, which allow members to access the THIRTEEN Passport member benefit, offering extended access to a robust library of public television programming. It will also add Chromecast support, enabling viewers to stream all videos from Android phones or tablets to a TV with a Chromecast device.
The station for the metropolitan New York area also expects to launch THIRTEEN Explore for Amazon FireTV in early 2017.
“We are pleased to broaden THIRTEEN Anywhere with these latest digital projects,” said Dan Greenberg, Chief Digital Officer at WNET. “Connecting our viewers to THIRTEEN’s content, on whatever platforms they may be watching, is an important part of our digital strategy.”
