Prince: Rave Un2 the Year 2000 premieres Saturday, June 29 at 9 p.m. on THIRTEEN
Experience the legendary talent and peerless showmanship of Prince (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016) at a dazzling show filmed on the cusp of the new millennium at the artist’s Paisley Park Studios in Minnesota. The concert features performances of his timeless hits including “Kiss” and “Purple Rain” and guest artists Lenny Kravitz, Maceo Parker, and members of the Family Stone and Morris Day and the Time.
Filmed in December, 1999, when Prince went by a symbol and “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince,” the concert was originally broadcast via In Demand Pay-per-view on New Year’s Eve, 1999. Prince’s estate made the concert available to PBS audiences this year. Enjoy the concert excerpt of “Kiss,” below, and see you on the 29th!
