President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address and the Republican Response airs Tuesday, February 7 at 9 p.m. Stream above and at Thirteen.org/live.

THIRTEEN will broadcast PBS NewsHour‘s live coverage and analyses of President Biden’s State of the Union address on February 7. Amna Nawaz and Geoff Bennett co-anchor. Biden’s second State of the Union address will take place in front of a divided Congress, where Republicans control the House. In House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s official invitation to Biden to speak at a joint session on February 7, McCarthy (Republican-CA) wrote, “The new year brings a new Congress, and with it, a responsibility to work towards an economy that is strong, a nation that is safe, a future that is built on freedom, and a government that is accountable. The American people sent us to Washington to deliver a new direction for the country, to find common ground, and to debate their priorities.”

After the State of the Union speech, a representative of the Republican party will provide a response.

At 11 p.m. Amanpour and Company will welcome among its guests Toluse Olorunnipa, White House Bureau Chief, The Washington Post, who will evaluate Biden’s presidency (repeat at 4 p.m. on February 8; see schedule).
