Tonight, MetroFocus takes you inside the youth movement shaking up American politics. According to a recent Harvard Youth Poll, 40% of 18-to-29 year-olds stated they will “definitely” vote in the November 8 midterm elections, which could match or possibly exceed the record breaking 2018 youth turnout in a midterm election. What are the issues that matter most to young voters? What could it all mean for the 2022 midterms? Joining MetroFocus to discuss it are John Della Volpe, director of polling at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics and author of “Fight: How Gen Z is Channeling Their Fear and Passion to Save America”; and Brianna Cea, executive director and founder of Generation Vote, which mobilizes thousands of young people across the country to fight for voting rights.

On Monday, November 7, MetroFocus brought the latest on the key political races in the region. There is the New York governor’s race that some polls show has significantly tightened, and there are several competitive congressional seats that could tilt the balance of power in Washington, DC. On Long Island, nine state Senate seats are in play. Expert Guests: Robbie Sequeria, senior reporter for Bronx Times; Alyssa Katz, Deputy Editor of “The City,” the nonprofit news website covering New York; and Yancey Roy, Newsday’s Albany bureau chief. Watch now.

On November 3, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Joseph Pinion, joined MetroFocus to share his vision for New York State.
