WLIW World to Offer Enhanced Educational Content starting Monday, March 23, 2020
This is the first step in a wider effort to make instructional and educational content available to students throughout New York State and beyond.

Starting Monday, March 23, 2020, WNET station WLIW World will shift its programming lineup to better serve the students who are homebound during the Coronavirus crisis. Content will focus on Literature, History, Science and the Arts, drawing from WNET’s vast archive of PBS and locally produced content.

Most programs offered will have accompanying learning resources available on PBS LearningMedia.

From noon to 5 p.m. each day, WLIW World will offer a locally curated lineup to students that features find high-quality PBS content that is aligned with their classroom curricula.

WLIW WORLD’s Grades 6-12 “WORLD At Home Learning” Schedule


WLIW WORLD’s grades 6-12 educational TV lineup airs Monday-Friday from 12-5 p.m.

12-2 p.m.

NOVA will share this two-hour block with documentary programs such as The Great Yellowstone Thaw and Wild Weather.

2-4 p.m.

Two-hour history documentaries from American Experience.

4-5 p.m.

The Future of America’s Past, which travels to places that define the most misunderstood parts of America’s past, and films and episodes that explore world history.

WNET station WLIW21 will also adjust its programming, starting Monday, March 30, with content aligned to the elementary curriculum. WLIW is joining forces with New York State’s PBS stations to acquire instructional content that will also align with statewide curriculum guidelines.
