The world order in place since the aftermath of World War II has been coming apart, and global summits like the G-7 and G-20 no longer have the influence they once did. This is what political scientist Ian Bremmer calls the “GZERO World.”
To make sense of this fast-changing reality in the midst of the greatest global crisis of our lifetimes, The WNET Group brings you GZERO World with Ian Bremmer, a weekly, half-hour public affairs series featuring in-depth interviews with newsmakers and experts on the biggest stories of the moment. Now in its fifth season on public television, the award-winning GZERO World has hosted conversations with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, and Dr. Anthony Fauci just to name a few.
Each week, Bremmer also breaks down the central theme in an opening monologue that incorporates some of the most eye-catching and creative graphics and animations in television today. See the Schedule page for air dates on THIRTEEN, WLIW21, NJ PBS, and WLIW21 World channels or check your local listings.
The program features a regular segment called “Puppet Regime,” a witty and satirical series that uses puppetry to parody world leaders from Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Angela Merkel to tech titans like Mark Zuckerberg.
Bremmer is the president and founder of Eurasia Group, the leading global political risk research and consulting firm. He is also president and founder of GZERO Media, a Eurasia Group company, dedicated to providing the public with intelligent and engaging coverage of global affairs. Bremmer is a thought leader, best-selling author and noted lecturer, regularly expressing his views on political issues in public speeches, television appearances, and top publications.
GZERO WORLD is executive produced by Tony Maciulis, and Ian Bremmer for GZERO Media. Alex Gibson is senior producer. Alexander Kliment is director, writer and performer for the “Puppet Regime” feature. Steve Michel and Andrew Ross Rowe are editors. The series is presented by WLIW LLC for The WNET Group. Neal Shapiro and Stephen Segaller are executives in charge for The WNET Group. Distributed nationally by American Public Television.
