He's always improving his music trying to speriment the many and different styles, making them his own music.
He is the best song writer, every song on his CD's are great. He also performs very often, and the shows are the best! He gives 100% every time.
His is the most ecclectice, world caring artist I have ever heard. His work with The Rainforest, Band Aid,Amnesty International etc. etc. has been very awe inspireing. His current aid to Bobby Sagers The Power Of The Invisible Sun book, which helps bring attention to starving children in Africa is wonderful.
Because not only was he completely influenced by the Beatles, he has influenced countless lives himself with his sophisticated melodies, complicated harmonies, though-provoking lyrics and haunting voice. He's the MAN!
World hunger. Fascism. Deforestation. Global warming. Prisoners of conscience. Nuclear proliferation. Imperialism. The crimes about which he writes are matched only by the causes for which he sings: Amnesty. Walden Woods. Band Aid. Live Aid. Live Earth. MusicCares. Visceral and cerebral, his music has been making the world a better place for nearly 40 years. And he's still going strong. History will teach us something: Sting will be the musician who will have the most profound impact on history.
He personally stopped the Cold War. When he sings, world leaders listen.
He cannot be pigeon-holed into any particular musical style or genre. He can do it all.
This artist brought light into my world. At a time when I was sad, lonely and a bit depressed, his songs gave voice to what I was feeling and offered me a way to explore those feelings without harm. His music offered a place where the trail led to light and understanding of myself. That was is 1982. Today, all that is past me, but his music brings joy to my heart. Thank you Mr. Sumner.
Sting is not only a brilliant musician, but he is also a caring environmentalist. His work to help preserve the Amazon rain forest is tremendous and he has brought awareness to problem that affects everyone.
uks best songwriter who has been world renowned for more than three decadea and counting....
Musically, lyrically, he's a genius. He manages to make any genre his own without losing its essence. And his songs capture melancholy and hope in the same breath.
He has covered a wide range of musical styles that have influenced many newer artists .Unusual sexy voice.
Sting is a talented, risk-taking musician..who has crossed every musical line..one of a kind
Shape of My Heart
In 1989, Sting and his wife,Trudie Styler, began the Rainforest Foundation whose first major initiative was to campaign for the protection of the lands of the Kayapo Indians in Brazilian Amazonia. This resulted in 1993 in the legal recognition and demarcation of an area of more than 27,359 square kilometers.
Over the last 20 years the Foundation has expanded and diversified. It directly supports projects in more than 20 countries that protect tropical rainforests and the people who live there.

MUSIC & ACTIONS R THEIR LEGACY.
Sting's range as a performer spans the wide breadth of music-- from true rock to pop to jazz to his magnificent and unique presentation of the incredible works of the composer, John Dowland. Sting is also a brilliant lyricist and composer as well. And importantly, he has mentored many talented musicians (such as Chris Botti as one example), helping them and paving the way for success that they would not likely have been able to do on their own.
Through his music & activism, Sting has brought the world's attention to human rights for the past 20 years. He brought world attention to human rights violations in Chile through his song They Dance Alone in '87 & was later awarded the Gabriela Mistral award by the Chilean President for human rights contributions. Long before environmentalism was fashionable he was at the forefront of environmental activism to save the rainforest. He crosses musical borders bringing cross cultural understanding
Sting has soared as an artist for almost 4 decades. He continues to thrive creatively and create original work that appeals to the masses. I believe he is a musical genius as well as an extraordinary human being.
