WHAT PEOPLE SAID ABOUT RAY DAVIES/THE KINKS
Jane Coby
It seems to be all about individuality and creative expression. Appreciation of past times (Village Green Pres. Society) Though his songs are noted for their British slant their theme is universal really. Money corrupts, big businnes hurts, the poor are exploiited by the upper classes, etc. Many have political and economic points that are worthy of note. Simple tunes or ballads that go direct to the heart like "Waterloo Sunset" and "Days" are classics. In the 70's & 80's alienation remains. HOPE
