Yip was America's greatest lyricist. He wrote the lyrics to The Wizard of Oz, Finian's Rainbow, Hooray For What!, Bloomer Girl, April in Paris, Brother Can You Spare A Dime and many more wonderful, hopefilled, inspiring, positive songs. His lyrics preached a gospel of brotherhood and love. Known as "Broadway's Social Conscience," Yip was born in 1896 of Russian/Jewish parents. He died in 1981. If every voter simply has a brain, they will enthusiastically vote for Yip Harburg. Yip, Yip, HOORAY!!!
