After I read both of your transparent and paranoid, although silly comments regarding my 9/13/00 posting, I was in stiches. To put it quite bluntly, you're as lost as two goats in a snow storm incapable of grasping such simple and basic Biblical truths, even though its staring you in the face. Duh!!!

You pretty much confirmed my first impression, that's for sure. You have no knowledge of who I am or where I'm "coming from," but you were unable to control your snide, name-calling nature. I feel sorry for you, Martin, because you appear to be a very unhappy person. I'll pray for your soul and ask God to give you enlightenment and love and understanding of your fellow humans.

The evidence for the Afterlife will always be debated and probably never proven. The insights and inquiries of some may be of value to others.

In recent years, some people who had recently died chose Carolyn Stearns as their channel for something more that they wanted to say to those still living. They came unbidden by Carolyn. Their after-death messages are hopeful and encouraging. Carolyn collected them in her book "Spirit-Walking".

In some cases, she has conveyed the messages to relatives, who attested to their authenticity of voice and credibility and were greatly comforted by them.

Others have found them reassuring as they contemplate their own death.

Please reach us at Christomay@aol.com if this kind of inquiry interests you.

Sandiloo,

All I have to say is in Matthew 7:5 & 6 which reads as follows in Jesus' own words: (5) "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. (6) Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye pearls to the swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."

And also Proverbs 9:8 which reads as follows: "Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee."

I hope that you can somehow get on with your life now sweetheart. May God help you in your fevered quest for the real truth through life. But please remember that the Bible and the one true God who's words are within it's covers be the force that guides you on the right path. Other god's are dead or made of wood or stone. The Bible is life's perfect road map to a secure eternity with Christ in Heaven no matter how many have tried to distroy it down through the ages. I've never been happier since Christ came into my life 27 years ago and He has never failed me yet. Your in my prayers. :+}

I have been diagnosed as terminal. I do not happen to believe in God, the gods, the soul, or an afterlife. I do believe in compassionate concern for others, and if religion or a belief in God is truly giving solace to the believers, it happies my heart.
If it's making them feel guilty or inadequate or fearfrul, or superior, it sorrows me.

When I am gone, I think I will be gone in all senses, thus will not miss loved ones, my wonderful life here on earth, nor anything else. I do think I will "continue" in the sense of serving as fertilizer, food, atoms, etc. There is nothing frightening or ugly about this to me. For a short time I know I will "live on" in others' memories, just as those I have loved dearly who have died live on in my memory. At least up until this point I have felt no fear of death, not being, losing life. I am a pretty happy camper who has been treated very well by almost everyone in this life, and I have tried to do my best to do the same. More love, peace, understanding here on earth
might be increased if we were all more tolerant of each others beliefs than we currently are.

Dorothy, I hope that you continue in the time remaining to you to live with such graciousness of spirit. Somehow, i know that you will.

this' mi thought about afterlife
What is an afterlife?

Basically, to many people’s belief of afterlife, an afterlife is a space of human consciousness, an area in which we all will one day enter upon, and leave behind our own physical body behind in the world. It is also known as life after death. Depending on the person’s experience (such as beliefs held prior to death; circumstances of death and diseases which alter the thinking process) beforehand will consider upon where the “dead person” will be landing in during their afterlife. However, there are many different aspects or perspectives of a person’s belief/definition on afterlife depending on their opinions, culture or religion.
Egyptians
Unlike many other cultures/religions, Egypt believed in a socially based judgment after death. They would need all the things they had used when they were alive, so their families would put those things in their graves. Egyptians paid vast amounts of money to have their bodies properly preserved. In the ancient times, the Egyptians believed that in an afterlife, they would make a complete whole new journey in a different world, in which to achieve an afterlife, they would have to pass through a very dangerous place full of perils like demons, monsters and fires. If they overcame such dangerous journey, they would reach the gates of Yaru, a gate to an Egyptian afterlife, a place where they will meet their friends and families in the afterlife world. However, they also had to pass the “Hall of Two Truths”, in which involves with weighing the heart (it is believed that when you die, the heart is the only organ which will be left in your body). The heart would be placed on a balance whilst the feather of Ma'at (Holds a history of all the lies and sins of the person’s past life, also the symbol of truth) is placed on the other side of the balance. 3 Egyptian gods, Osiris (god of the underworld), Anubis (the jackal god, representing the underworld and the mummification) and Thoth will decide upon the result of the weighing. If the heart was too heavy, it would mean that the deceased has a heart that has been made heavy with evil deeds and the sinful party would be considered to have failed the test. According to some accounts, a terrifying monster called Ambis will devour and destroy it and the dead person will disappear forever…In the other hand, if the feather outweighs the heart, it'd would mean that the heart passed the test, then the deceased has led a righteous life and the new body will be called "Oahu" then the “dead” person will be allowed to enter the gates of Yaru. The place of the afterlife was usually described as a place not unlike the Nile valley, complete with channels and farms. Once having arrived, the body would be able to make use of all the items left for their use in the crypt (as mentioned before), such as food, beds, chairs, and utensils. They would choose one of the 15 "acts"s or regions of the Field of Rushes in which to live, each region having its own ruler. The deceased could transform themselves into a bird and live that sort of life, or live as in the midst of an orchard, with delicious fruits of never-ending yield.
Judaism
The result of a person’s afterlife depends on a person’s daily behavior and attitude in their life. To the Judaism belief and the Christian belief, it is known that God will always offer all believers a possibility of repenting. After such repentance, the person can repent one’s rebellion against God through many more positive actions that could be done. However many Jews often joke about death as they don't take the belief of afterlife compared to other religions and cultures.
Hinduism/Buddhism
The afterlife concept for all Hindus is quite similar to the Buddhism idea in which is reincarnation, thinking that our current life as being consequences of actions done in one's previous life. The final goal of all Hindus is to escape from the endless round of birth, death and rebirth, also known as samsara. Escaping such process will enable them an eternal resting place for each person’s personality in the arms of the loving and person god Brahman. In order to achieve this goal, it is described that the Janana yoga (way of knowledge), Karma yoga (way of action) and the Raja yoga (makes use of meditative yoga techniques) should be performed daily.
Roman Catholics
To the Catholics, an afterlife is a location that consists of both areas that are heaven and hell, where as hell is a location where "prisoners" get punished. Amongst many of these that get punished are angels that supported Satan, Satan himself and people who have died without having repenting their sins beforehand. Such punishment in hell will be in the form of isolation from God, and including some supernatural forms or events like fire causing endless pain one’s body. The level of such punishment is considered according to the seriousness of each individual’s sin. Those that died without repenting their sins before get punished in hell. However, repenting themselves with sincere confession of their mortal sin to an authorized priest can prevent such from happening, leading to the amnesty of all their previous sins, and will be able to avoid the presence of Hell. However in some occasions, the Catholics spend time in purgatory until their whole body and mind is fully cleansed of their sins. Moreover, friends and family of the individual can also reduce the intensity and duration of the punishment.
Protestants
The protestants believe that everyone has been the given of eternal life once they are born, meaning when the body dies/rots, the soul lives forever. There are chances that they can spend their eternity in heaven or hell whereas heaven is a merry and glorious location with the absence of all sorts of pain, disease, sex, and depression etc. along with the presence of Jesus Christ. In the other hand, hell is a location where inmates get punished. The seriousness of the punishment (in the Bible, such punishment involves with fire and flesh eating worms) depends on how much they have sinned. However, most humans will be sent to Hell after the body/they dies. Only few who have been "saved", repented their sins, trusted Jesus Christ as the Lord and savior and have done good deeds will be sent to heaven.
Materialist/Universalists/Athiests
People that are Universalists believe in univeralism, which holds that all will eventually be rewarded regardless of what they have done or believed.
Christian
The Christians believed that the afterlife concerns with Heaven and Hell as described in the Holy Bible. There are many versions and time period of the bible. In the earliest books of the bible, it is described as underground cavern where all people, both good and bad, In the later versions of Bible, it is believed that Hell is a place of either a place of desolation or of eternal punishment. Generally speaking, this system of beliefs looks upon Hell as a concept, not as a place of punishment. The idea that a person would suffer eternal punishment for a single error or sin during life is seen as inequitable. Punishment of an individual because she/he had never heard the Bible is also viewed as irrational and unjust. They feel that a loving God would be incapable of creating such a place. Thus, meaning that basically, when a Christian believer dies, he/she would have a higher chance in living in Heaven rather than Hell.
Christian Bible "The measure you give will be the measure you get."
"I'm the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me though he may die shall live."
