As a Baby Boomer (born somewhere in the middle of the 18 year stretch) I appreciate PBS in general and Thirteen (as the flagship channel here in the tristate area) and NJTV in particular. I have decided to donate to each of them today as I benefit from each in very different ways. I recall in the Autumn of 2011 during Tropical Storm Irene followed by the Halloween Nor’Easter in October 2011 and then the biggee of the trifecta Hurricane Sandy in October 2012 and during all of these natural catastrophes I did not have electrical power and consequently was not able to view my favorite programs on a daily basis. I was besides myself! I am not on Facebook or Twitter and could care less. I support the things that I believe in and value and Thirteen in definitely one of them. It is very well rounded program and none of the fluff and stupidity. The programs are educational and yet entertaining in a positive way and directly impact my life. I will always support PBS in general and Thirteen and NJTV in particular as long as I continue to be a resident of Bergen county New Jersey.
