Youssou N’Dour

Filmmaker Chai Vasarhelyi, the producer and director of the film “I Bring What I Love,” discusses the life and international impact of Senegalese artist and humanitarian Youssou N’Dour, the African pop musician with the highest record sales.

“I Bring What I Love” focuses on the making of N’Dour’s Grammy Award-winning album “Egypt,” which was meant as the musician’s testament to his Sufi Muslim faith and an impassioned plea for a more tolerant view of Islam.

Vasarhelyi followed N’Dour for more than two years – filming in Africa, Europe, and America – to tell the story of how he faced serious challenges and eventually won over audiences, both at home and abroad.

“I Bring What I Love” opens June 12th at the following theatres in NYC:

Screenings:
IFC CENTER in Manhattan
PARIS THEATRE in Manhattan
BAM ROSE CINEMA in Brooklyn
