I divide the Met Opera and the City Opera as two separate entities. One is for classical showings; the other for modern showings. The City Opera did an exemplary showing of Elixer on its pittitul small stage as it did with Don Giovanni for modernizing them. The Met Opera should not try to compete in that vain, and the new Tosca is very so so.
