Posted: December 1st, 2011

Philippe de Montebello visits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new Islamic art galleries. These 15 galleries, filled with magnificent works of art, opened to the public in November 2011. Drawn from the Met’s collection of over 12,000 works of Islamic Art, this new installation reflects a cultural vista of great breadth and singular beauty.
